I realize that folks are starting to think that I am obsessed with Zimbabwe. It is for a simple reason: It is a matter of human rights. I don't want a lie to go unpunished. I don't want a man who claims to be a revolutionary to get away with murder. Mugabe said that the leader of the MDC was a coward to have run away. I would say that Mugabe is the coward. He is the coward to have allowed the thugs to continue. He claims the MDC is the culprit. You are the culprit, Mr. Mugabe. Shame on you for wanting to cling on to power..for what? Haven't you had enough destroying the country.
The BBC is reporting that Mugabe wants to "listen" to opposition concerns after th elections. I have already reported that the MDC has withdrawn. So, there is no election anyway. Why does this man go on? He has no legacy and he has destroyed his country. Yet, he claims to represent the people. The only thing that will move him is a total clampdown by South Africa. Yet, Thabo Mbeki does not seem to have the spine to do it.

The problem exists when politicians have the ability to write their own checks and make the laws so that the laws do not apply equally to them or a select few. be they judges, congress, police etc...
For example: The US Congress will never have your retirement interests in mind as long as they are not subjected to it. Congress long ago passed law that legislated an annual payment to every living and surviving member past and present to recieve a salary equal to that of current sitting members of Congress. No matter how good or bad a job they did while sitting in Congress.
Were they looking out for you when they passed that measure? How about taxation? Do you qualify for all the tax breaks they have written into the tax code? How about raising taxes? When was the last time you WANTED your taxes raised? Let me tell you about how the income tax started - it was to be a temporary measure! that's right TEMPORARY. Once they passed it and you lost control - guess what? They kept is because that's what your great great grandparents wanted. Are they really representing your interests? How about gas prices? Is it your best interest or that of a well funded environmental lobbyist group that are being represented?
As for Jupiter and the Frogs? Same goes with dictators around the world - only once the frogs have been eaten by the Crane King and they can no longer sustain his appetite and hunger (for power etc... ) will the dictator leave. Once taxation, gas prices and cost of living go so high you refuse to work and pay into the system any more.... will something get done.
Obama is not your answer. Neither is McCain for that matter. Your answer lies where no political group will look - to a non-politician - an educated philosopher and small business owner.
I predict the same thing for many nations... in the near future, once the truth of paper currency vs. real money is learned and once people realize the paper they trade is only worth a lie they have been fed to believe? The house of cards will come crashing down and nothing the Fed can do will prop it back up.
