Will King Mugabe yield?
Well, looks like my pessimism was potentially misplaced. The MDC Main faction has won the position of speaker. Will this mean that King Mugabe has seen the writing on the wall? From the report I saw on the BBC site, it appears that ZANU-PF did not field a candidate. They wanted to divide and conquer. The divided and conquer did not work. Let's see if King Mugabe will in fact yield and allow the MDC leader to do his magic. I was surprised, to say the least. But, I was pleased that the people of Zimbabwe are starting to see some results. But Thabo Mbeki needs to push on and impress upon all the need to compromise. As the MDC Secretary General said, the people are suffering and failure is not an option. The players seem to realize that.
