I was quite pleased to see the job figures for Feburary 2010. It showed a robust increase of 162,000 jobs. I am well aware of the number of Census Workers who were part of this hiring pool. But, I continue to be worried about the realities on the ground.

The stark realities on the ground present a continued challenge to long-term development. I was shocked when I saw the report that the unemployment fund for 33 States is bankrupt. Congress did not agree to extend unemployment benefits to the long-term unemployed. Although I understand Senator Tom Coburn’s contention to be fiscally prudent, what would his response be to those that I hear everyday at the One Stop Center wanting to know how much more they can expect
