The Republican Convention: Day 3 (Reflections-Part I)
:
I guess they have to have their moment in the sun!!!
The third day of the Republican Convention has been in full swing. The array of people who have spoken has been quite impressive. From Meg Whitman to Carly Fiorina, they have touted the Republican message of change, of hope, of committment and belief in putting "country first". The video noted that Senator McCain will make sure that the Budget is balanced by 2013. The country was also told about the "gas tax" holiday for three months. Furthermore, the country was also told about tax credits and technology adoption to help change healthcare.
As the evening went on, Michael Steele of GOPAC reminded us to "Drill, Baby, Drill...:" Michael Steele told the country and the world that we should win the war on terror. Mitt Romney talked about the fact that "liberals" were in fact in charge in Washington since 1980. There was of course, Governor Huckabee. He told the country, in his folksy style, that John McCain had "earned" the right to the desk in the Oval Office. The Governor of Hawaii's introduction went to who Sarah Palin is. She was touting Sarah Palin's experience as an Executive. The Governor of Hawaii is telling the country that Senator Obama and Senator Biden have gotten no executive experience at all. The Governor of Hawaii thinks that Sarah Palin is a great choice. The Governor noted that Alaska has the same electoral votes as Delaware and 250 states the size of Delaware can fit into the size of Alaska. She also noted that Sarah Palin is an outsider and an experienced reformer. She called the choice, "...bold and historic...". Now, Rudy Giulinai is speaking and attacking Senator Obama.
Earlier today, when Senator McCain arrived in Minneapolis, he apparently made it a point of hugging Sarah Palin's daughter Bristol. The fact that the blogsphere continued the discussions is simply sad. That girl must be left alone. Let her leave her life in peace. End of Story.
The lies and outright misstatements given is simply mindboggling. Let's begin with Mitt Romney claim of "liberals" being in charge in Washington. First of all, The Congress has been in Republican Hands for the longest time during this period. How the record of the past eight years have been whitewashed by this party is simply unforgivable. I will not support a party that makes me afraid and does not take responsibility for their actions. I have said that Senator McCain's service must be respected. I do not want to hear about the past. I want to hear about the future.
The future that the Republicans just said is one to "Drill, Baby Drill". They want to give us a gax tax holiday. They want to reduce taxes. Well, how the hell then will the insure that our infrstructure will be repaired. I suppose privatizing is the answer. The Republicans want to win the "war on terror". I am yet to see any indication But, I will not crown him. This is America. The Republicans motto is simply this: You're either with us or against us. They are touting the fact that they are Americans, yet they don't have a clue about what America is about.
Rudy the attack dog is still at it. He is saying that Barack has not led anything and the least experienced candidate of the past 100 years. Thank you Professor Rudy for that history lesson!!!! The fact is that Rudy had a despicable and lousy record as the Mayor of New York City. The same "left-wing" media that he just attacked was kind to him. The only folks that talked about his "lousy" record was the alternative media. Rudy milked 9/11 to stardom and became a multi-millionaire. Rudy is right now talking about Georgia. Well, Rudy, you're an absolute idiot. The fact is that Georgia's President is an idiot and fell into a trap. So, keep your comments on Georgia to yourself. And no, Rudy, I will not call John McCain because he is a man that wants the world to "fear" us, not respect us.
The speeches will be over soon...and the campaign will begin in earnest on Friday....
Sarah Palin is coming on now...reports are noting that she will be going after Senator Obama....she just formally accepted after a jubliant reception..the faithful came through....
It will be interesting......More to come.....!!!!!
