The Gaza Tragedy (Day 11...Cont'd)

: No one is safe
The war continues. From the reports I am seeing, no one is safe. No where is safe. The UN has said that all information was given to the Israelis. A school was hit and children have been killed. So, what are the ordinary Gazans to do? Israelis have noted how their strikes are "surgical". If this in fact was a mistake, it blows away all crediblity by the Israelis in this regard. So far, Israel is losing the PR war. At least, the Israelis are to be commended for allowing Al Jazeera to report.

The flurry of diplomatic activity is continuing. I commend Prime Minister Edrogan's admonition to the Israelis when he noted the suffering Israelis have undergone and what they're doing will have a bleak mark on humanity. Although I anxiously await Mahmoud Abbas' speech, nothing will happen until the U.S. tells Israel to stop. It does appears that the Bush Adminstration will let Israel to achieve its' military objectives (whatever they are). In the meantime, the suffering continues:

Why?
Why should they die?

Bush will never put pressure on Israel and it looks unlikely that Obama will either.

Israel has free reign to kill, oppress, starve and humiliate the Palestinian population, secure in the knowledge that the US will continue to to champion its "right to defend itself".

There can never be peace or a lasting ceasefire as long as Hamas continues to shoot rockets into Israel's civilian population. Why is Israel being make out to be the bad guy they have a right to self defense?

You never see the dead or injured Israelis, but the Mainstream Media or I should say the Liberal Media show a lot of the Palestinian's. Lets remember Hamas can stop this anytime they want to.

Thank you for your visits to OutsiderViews. Appreciate the comments.

I do hope, Lester, that you remember that during the suicide bombings that Hamas did, we saw it all on the "mainstream" media. As I see it, one death is one death too many (whether palestinian or Israeli). The violence has to stop. That's what we all ought to aim for.

Thank you again for the visits....I look forward to your further comments.

Happy New Year!!!

Lester, it was Israel not Hamas who broke the truce.

Hamas resumed firing rockets into Israel only after Israel conducted a raid into Gaza killing six Palestinian militants.

Israel claimed that it was a "pinpoint operation intended to prevent an immediate threat."

However, since the raid was not actually in retaliation to any action taken by Hamas then it is clearly Israel who was the aggressor, which compleltey contradicts their claims that Israel is just defending itself.
