At least something to celebrate
In the midst of all the terrible news that I have written about, I was really jazzed up when I saw reports that Sanjay Gupta, the CNN Chief Medical Correpodent and a Practicing Surgeon, has been selected by Barack Obama to serve as the next Surgeon General of the United States. His CNN Colleagues were kidding around about the fact that he will have to wear a uniform now as head of the US Public Health Service. I have found him to be an very effective advocate for health and saw the work he did while working on the Planet in Peril. Jeffrey Tubin noted that "..I feel healthy already...". I do as well.
