Sharif Has Gone....Now What for Pakistan?
:
I was right....or so it seems.....
Sharif, the PML-N leader, has pulled his party out of the coailition government. Sharif notes that he is doing so because the Pakistan People's Party has broken the pledge it made to restore the judges. I noted that Musharaf was just an excuse. Sharif wants to be Prime Minister again and wants to be an Executive Prime Minister. The whole notion of Musharaf was just the glue that held these guys together. From where I sit, Zardari will be President and he will in no way agree to water down the powers of the Presidency. As the instability continues, the Taliban are going to continue to have a field day. The implications are enormous for the United States and the world.
