A Hope For Civility
:
Stark Choices....
I have honored Senator McCain's Service and committment he has shown over his almost thirty years in Congress. I have disagreed with his vision, though. The biggest disagreement I have with him has to do with his apparent continued undying belief in the market. For instance, I view his attempt to extend tax credits for people to buy health insurance as simply ludricous. It truly does not help a family of four. I will say to Senator McCain that it will not even cover my family at all. Although my company is currently paying for it, I wonder how long it will continue.
Some of the post-moretums on the Saddleback Civil Forum noted how much of a lightweight Senator McCain was. I was especially concerned about Jack Cafferty's comments on CNN. His vision, outlook and plans must be discussed on its merits. I view his health insurance plan as just one example of being truly out of touch with the average folks. There are attack ads out there--one example of it being the one at http://therealmccain.com/. Whomever has an interest can go out there and check it out on their own. There are many of us who do try and play by the rules and end up short anyway. Government should be there to support us. Why Government is always the devil is something that I am trying to understand.
Senator McCain's personal wealth should not be an issue. If Senator McCain is elected President, he must remember to be President of all Americans. Everyone has to have a chance to overcome difficulties. This film does bother me because it depicts Senator McCain to be a bit out of touch. I do hope that this is in fact not the case. I yearn for a debate on the issues. I hope we will get it starting after the conventions.
