Sean Hannity's America
:
Is there room for such hatred?
Sean Hannity has a weekly show called "Hannity's America" on Fox News. Apparently, according to the New York Times story, Obama got the nth degree. Hannity blased him for his ties to "radicals" and talked about again Obama being a Muslim.
I have periodically listened to Sean Hannity on his syndicated Radio Show, have read his work and have seen him on Fox. He has done some commendable work in support of Veterans and I regard him as caring American. I do however draw the line when he goes out there to destroy the character and intergrity of others. This is not America. We do not elect saints as President. I want a human who understands. As for Bill Ayers, the man has never been convicted of a crime. He has dedicated his life to Education. He has been at the forefront of school reform. So, my question to Sean Hannity is, so what???
Sean Hannity and his friends were the same folks who sold us the bill of goods on the Iraq War. Sean Hannity was the same guy who used to shout down people who dared speak up against a war that started as a lie and has cost us over 4000 lives. Sean Hannity has a place. But he and his compadres must accept the fact that there are those of us who also embrace America and believe that America's best days are ahead of it. We do also believe that America is indeed the shinning beacon of hope for all on earth. We may have a difference of opinion on how to sustain the dream and the experiment that is America. I decided to launch this project in large measure to foster such a dialogue. We should be proud that a Brazilian changes his name to Barack Obama because he has been inspired by his example.
Hannity's latest salvo came out during the week-end that Governor Palin began her attack on Senator Obama. She cited the New York Times in her usual sarcastic manner in talking about it. She questioned Obama's "character" by constantly staying on message. Anyone who thinks Sarah Palin is Stupid or not up to her game better think again. She is a wolf in sheep's clothing. She is hiding behind the "hockey mom" mantra to avoid being questioned. The Conservative, Right-wing, Fred Thomspon/Mitt Romney/Mike Huckabee wing of the Republican Party is on the ascendency and Sarah Palin is their gal. Whatever happens during the election, she will be a force to be recokned with. She is Dick Cheney's clone in every which way. Interestingly enough, though, her teflon status seems to be wearing thin. Apparently, her approval rating is down in Alaska. In addition, the stories coming out of Alaska continue to bring into question her claims. She is the person that apparently advised Senator McCain to "take the gloves" off. Senator McCain has been poorly served by allowing the campaign to take such a nasty turn.
I am anxiously awaiting the debate. This debate is of special significance because of the continued stress the financial system is in. I saw the implosion on CNBC as the market closed. The market lost over 5% of its value. Trillions have been wiped off the weath of billions around the world. What else can governments do? Why would anyone want the job of President of the United States anyway?
