OV Week-End (1/30/2010): Grateful For All My Blessings....
:
Can't even imagine....
Saturday was my boy's 9th Birthday. I am forever grateful for the privilege of having known him and am proud to call him the "big little man". I have been forever grateful for the p the honor to be his Dad. As I saw him hanging out with his buddies for the day, I prayed that I would do everything in my power to make sure he grew up to be better, wiser and stronger than I. This is what Fathers live for. That's why I could not even imagine what this Father went through:
All his dreams and aspirations went away that day in Nisoor square in Baghdad. The shock of seeing his child die is something that I can't shake off. Unfortunately, some will question the source of the report and will question the "political" nature of it. Some may say that, "..this is war". But the report has to be listened to understand the generosity of this grief-stricken family. What bothered me was why Eric Prince was not man enough to at least say that he was sorry that they killed a 9-year old boy. Eric Prince made a lot of money at the expense of the US Tax Payer. He continues to do so.
The story of this grieving father made me truly realize all that I have been blessed with. Despite all the profound challenges I have, this story convinced me that anything can be overcome with faith, patience and perservarence. I just could not understand. I don't think anyone can understand. I also found the State Department document about "low payouts" was quite shocking also. What I hope and pray is that the faith Ali's Father has placed in the U.S. Justice system will be vindicated.
