OV Newsflash II (3/8/2010): Biden going to the Middle East?

Will Israel Listen?
As the "indirect" negotations begin between Palestinians and Israelis, there is word that U.S. Vice President Biden will be going on to the Middle East to help jumpstart the process. If that is in fact the case, I regard it as a welcome development. Biden is the same guy who read the useless Karzai the riot act. Biden is the same guy who has been a forceful advocate for the Adminstration.
As this round of diplomacy begins, the Israelis have again announced plans to build more settlements. The outright policy of land grab and creating an apartheid-like structure in the Palestinian Terrritories is in full swing as the World watches on and Israel pays continued lipservice to peace. The Palestinians are once again stepping up. Although George Mitchell pulled off peace in Northern Ireland, put baseball on a sound footing and helped Disney, I have to wonder whether his luck will indeed run out dealing with the zealots that run Israel today. I remain hopeful, though.
