OV News Flash: It seems to be All Over In Iran

June 20th 2009 13:46
: It is over.....
As I write this, the opposition candidates did not show up at the meeting a the Guardian Council, The Regime's Security Forces are out in force. There has been no facebook or Twitter updates for at least 8 hours from the opposition. Internet continues to be down.

Khameini seems to have once again gotten away with it as he did ten years ago. The Burma Option seems to be working. The uprising that saw millions come into the street to express their frustruation and fascinated the world seems to have fizzled out. Someone had to blink. It appears that the opposition was the one that has blinked.

There has been some late breaking developments over the past hour: One of Mr. Khatami's facebook pages is starting to have updates now. There is one scene where the Regime's Goons are starting to attack the protesters. The regime's goons are out in force and reports are that they are even attacking folks carrying the Holy Quran. One opposition candidate, Rezaii, did show up at the meeting. But, the Guardian Council's results are a foregone conclusion anyway.

You should check out FNC, Mike. They're running a continuous report from people on the scene. There are still thousands in the streets, protesting. The MSM wants you to think it's over and the bad guys won. That isn't the case, by a long shot.

I am not listening to MSM. There are reports of shootings..and a bombing near khomeini's shrine...

And that sounds like it's over to you? If we had a president with a backbone, he'd be speaking up in defense of those who want real elections and freedom. If the UN was worth a spit, they'd be stepping up to the plate. But that isn't the case, is it?

Iran's State TV English Channel Site,PressTV, seems to be up. The only thing it is reporting is on the Guardian Council Meeting...and the threats by Regime Officials to stop the protests....The regime has no regard for human life, has no regard for the rule of law, just self-presevation...and it will do what it needs to do...it already has.

Remember the old saying, Mike? "It ain't over til the fat lady sings?" She isn't even warming up in the wings. This is beginning to look like a rerun of Tienanmen Square. FNC has pictures up right now.

correction: one of the three candidates showed up for the meeting with the council. he of course is a mulah who they would not dare to touch. how stupid does the goverment think these opposition leaders are? that they would show up to this meeting just to be arrested? there is a lot of mis-information being put out by the goverment all over the web, including telling supports via email and twitter that the rally´s have been called off. not true. may the angels of God protect the brave ones seeking a free Iran!!

Rezaii is not a mullah, but he might as well be..he is a former Revolutionary Guard commander and secretary to the expediency Council....

The opposition leaders have been put on notice already by the state security officials....you're indeed correct that the government has had a campaign of misinformation....

Thank you for your prayers...the whole world is in need of it now......

Update:
Within the past hour, Moussavi has reportedly told a crowd,"..I am ready for Martydom"....This statement also appeared on Mr. Khatami's page and Ms. Rahnavard's Page-who is Mr. Moussavi's Wife. If true, it can change everything.

So he gets his wish and someone kills him. What then? More blood shed? More "martyrs"?

the point is this: he is rejecting the supreme leaders assertion....this is signficant from someone who served as his prime minister in the 80's......

It's not over yet, Mike. Let's see what happens next and how much scrutiny Iran will allow.

The cat's out of the bag and history is unfolding in front of our faces; let's hope that this evolves into a rational solution of some kind ~ so the Israeli's don't have to use a nuke on them to stop the nuts in power.
