What a Show...
The 2012 campaign in the United States has begun in earnest. Over the past year, some 18 debates has occurred between the Republican candidates.
The changes throughout the year has been nothing less than mind boggling. The ups and downs in the polls has sure given the talking heads in the mainstream media a lot to think about and talk about. The one that drives me ever more crazy is the Gallup Daily Tracking Poll. I am waiting for the Hourly Tracking Poll to be introduced soon. I wonder if the folks at eithe Gallup or Rasumseen have actually thought this through!!
On a serious note though, Sunday's Meet the Press did paint a pretty picture of a preview of the debate to come:
The Repubslicans' main talking point has been how the Presidency of Barack Obama ha been an abject failure and that a leader is needed to bring things together. I have to wonder how that would be achieved. All they say is how Dodd Frank has stifled lending and how the Healthcare Reform law has cost jobs.
Factcheck.Org did a masterful job to debunk some of the more outlandish claims at the latest Republican debate Saturday night. Jon Huntsman did not show up because he's betting the house on New Hampshire. He was not even mentioned in the discourse on Meet the Press. The talk of the hour was on Gingrich and how he was disciplined and how he had changed.
I wonder if a true debate will occur or not....
