BBC is reporting that John McCain has criticized Senator Obama for not visiting injured U.S. troops in Germany. NBC already reported that this was hogwash because the Pentagon specifically barred Senator Obama not to visit them in Germany. Now, according to the BBC report, officials are saying that Senator Obama could have visited the troops if not accompanied by Campaign Staff.
In my view, this is simple politics. The Civil Service MUST be above politics. Yet, the Pentagon intervened n politics to give Senator McCain an opening. To me, it is absolute nonsense. It is also a shame. George W. Bush would have called in "politics....". The conservatives want to claim that they are more patriotic than those of us who dare disagree with them. There lies the problem. Frankly, they claim to be American but have no clue about America. Senator McCain sacrificed a lot for this country. Yet, for attaining the office of the Presidency, he seems to be forgetting what America is about. It is a shame.
