Outsider Views - June 2008

Mars

At least something is going right now. The latest NASA mars mission has uncovered the fact that there may be ICE. The essential element of life is Water (which we seem to be forgetting). We may be able to eventually develop a second habitat for ourselves.

I am excited about it because it is one of the few areas for which we can truly create a future to be proud of. I hope I am right!!!

News from the probe has been scant (at best) with little of the promise I think NASA scientists were hoping for.

I guess any new finds are exciting - however I fear that they are now starting to 'jump the shark' as far things go.

Still too many ifs and maybe's for me - though - 'could be ice' - we thought as much before the landing.

Personally (see here my skeptical side) - but the sheet ice the photos are supposed to represent look suspiciously too close to the surface terrain.

Interesting all the same.
