Iran & The U.S. (An Update)

The BBC is right now reporting that the Senior U.S. Official going to Geneva to receive Iran's resonse to the offer from the EU is William Burns. He is the Under Secretary of State and the point man on Iran policy for the United States. So, this is quite a shift. I hope that the pragmatists have prevailed over the hotheads in the Iranian Leadership to have a reasonable response to underscore what the Foreign Minister and others have been saying about the willingness to listen and negotiate. Iran has to go nuclear for its power because it has no choice. It can't satisfy its' domestic demand for energy and that's a major problem.
