Dick Morris Speaks On the U.S. Campaign...
:
Will the Candidates Listen?
Dick Morris, The Political Supremo, has written an article on the state of the Presidential Campaign, which is running on the Fox News Website later on today. Despite my reservations about the man, I think his insight is as keen as ever in realizing how a discussion of the real issue is yet to materialize. The attacks are getting nastier and nastier. It is so unfortunate. The attack ad by the Democrats and the response by the McCain campaign is both simply sad. I get especially upset when I see such videos:
Senator McCain, though, seems to be gearing up to go even more negative than he already has. As for this response, what I would have done is to show something like how many houses actually went into foreclosure while Senator McCain was talking to politico. Let's have a genuine debate on the issues and raise the level of discourse. Let's reign in the 527's that have done so much to debase civil discourse in our society. It is easier said than done, though.
Now, on a side note, Senator Obama has said he has already decided on his running mate. According to all the reports I reviewed, all folks on the so-called short list have just been silent. Now, it will be interesting to see who will be picked. It will show a lot about the man. I view it as his own most important decision. Some may say it does not matter. I profoundly disagree. Let's see what kind of a bounce Obama gets and whether he is able to sustain the bounce after McCain is done with his convention.
