Signs of Things To Come
As we are dealing with the Economic Tsunami around the world, one of the things going on is a merger of equals. Yesterday's Financial Times is reporting that British Airways and Qantas are talking about a merger. It is a sign of the times. People are not traveling as much. Although I think $ 46/Barrel of Oil is a bit of a break for some of the carriers who have not done any hedging of their fuel costs, the evolution of the airlines into super carriers is another sign of what we're dealing with. I am keenly interested in finding out who will be left standing.
