When will the Butcher Wake Up?
According to a report on Al Jazeera, the Chief of the Zimbabewan Air Force, Air Marshal Perence Shiri, was shot and wounded in an assasination attempt on Saturday. The So-Called Home Minister condemened it as an act to "destabilize" the Government.
As I read this, my first reaction was that no violence should be tolerated at all. But, I also kind of regret the fact that this jackass was in fact not seriously wounded or even killed. He apparently was on his way to his farm which was taken from a White Farm. The man has disgraced his uniform, betrayed his country and has acted as a henchman for the butcher with impunity. He has to understand how bad things are.
The reality on the ground in the country is as terrible as ever. Cholrea deaths are at over 1000 right now. The Butcher and his gang of thugs seem to stay put. The only thing they understand is force. If someone has been brave enough to attack the Chief of the Air Force, I wonder if the butcher himself might be next? The annual ZANU-PF congress is going on right now while the world is up in arms against the butcher and his thugs. Maybe the people who have some sense will convince the thick-headed butcher to head out. I doubt it, though.
