Ahmad Batebi (An Update)
Earlier in the week, I wrote about Ahmad Batebi, the courageous Iranian Student Activist who paid a heavy price for symbolizing the yearning of many who simply wanted to be free. While in prison, he suffered a partial stroke which left him partially paralyzed.
I did a quick search on cuil earlier and notied some 19,000 hits for Ahmad Batebi. I was particularly keen to hear his view on what had happened to him. I ran across his first interview on Voice of America, which was unfortunately in Farsi. But, YouTube had also posted this letter from 2003 that shows that he and his friend had not been beaten. Although the background music is in farsi, the scenes and the words are simply striking...and it brought tears to my eyes.....
Freedom will come to Iran..it is not a question of if, but when.....
